A few years ago, Goodby Silverstein & Partners’ (GS&P’s) Rich Silverstein handpicked Firewood to help pitch and win the Comcast business—with Firewood responsible for all of Comcast’s national direct mail programs. We would sit down with GS&P monthly for updates as to what was happening program-wise on the advertising front. Our task (a delightful one at that) was to go back and take those concepts and directions and create smart, engaging direct mail. It was a perfect process in which all creative was in sync. Approved DM concepts were templated and housed on Comcast’s corporate extranet, where they could be accessed by all interested regional marketing offices. We worked in all categories, including TV, phone, and Internet, creating hundreds of mailer templates, installation guides, and other print assets.
